When selecting a rug for your bedroom, consider both comfort and layout. A large rug can be placed under the entire bed and nightstands, or you can use runners on each side of the bed. For a king or queen bed, a rug that extends at least 18–24 inches beyond the sides and foot of the bed looks best. If you prefer, you can use two smaller rugs or runners on either side instead.

Example: For a 12’ x 15’ room with a queen-size bed, we recommend a rug that’s at least 8’ x 10’, so your feet land on something soft every morning. If you have nightstands, ensure they’re either fully on or off the rug for the cleanest look.
